Infrastructure and Environment

‘O‘oma Beachside Village is deeply committed to developing solutions to infrastructure and environmental issues with input from the community.  In fact, we have taken an added step by triggering the processing of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in an effort to drive community input and proceed responsibly with our development.

Traffic

´O´oma Beachside Village envisions a “live-work-play” model for the project that will help to mitigate the traffic impact on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway and surrounding areas.
´O´oma Beachside Village has completed an updated study with both the County of Hawai‘i and the State Department of Transportation to develop solutions that will help to further mitigate traffic impacts of this development.

Water

´O´oma Beachside Village is exploring options to minimize water use such as water recycling for irrigation purposes and xeriscaping.
´O´oma Beachside Village is also working with the County of Hawai‘i to address water supply concerns and to identify potential water resources.

Cultural

‘O‘oma Beachside Village takes its role as responsible stewards of this land very seriously and will work with the appropriate agencies and the community, including recognized descendants of any native Hawaiian burials identified within the property,  to address issues of concern.
‘O‘oma Beachside Village has completed an updated study of the historic and cultural resources at ‘O‘oma, and will be working closely with the State and the County to identify significant properties requiring protection and preservation within ‘O‘oma Beachside Village.

Wastewater

´O´oma Beachside Village is working with both public and private entities to explore various options to develop and identify potential solutions to address wastewater generated from the project.
